We all know Penang as the Food Paradise of Asia, but is the food really that good?  Penang was listed in CNN Travels ‘Worlds 50 Best Foods’ and in Culture Trips’ ‘15 Best Cities in the World for Food’, and was also Lonely Planets number 1 top Foodie Destination. Still not convinced?  Then, the only thing to do next is make your way to the 2-day Penang Street Food Festival (PSFF) on the 23rd and 24th of November 2019, and savour for yourself the very best of the glorious different cuisines that Penang has to offer.

PSFF aims to bring the community together through the celebration of food, and to showcase Penang’s multi-ethnic food scene and unique culinary heritage. PSFF hopes the visitors are able to learn more about Penang, not only its food, but also, its culture, heritage and the beautiful diversity of the city.

This year, PSFF’s focus is on showcasing Penang’s hidden gems, the lesser known yet definitely not to be missed out dishes such as Hainanese cuisines and the various choices of Aroma Laksa from the Island and mainland Penang. Food lovers can savour the countless options of street food from the line-up of stalls to be opened in Beach Street, Lebuh Gereja, Gat Lebuh Gereja and Lebuh Bishop, or just sit back and relax to the tunes and twirls from the busking performances and cultural dances.

The 2019 PSFF will be officiated by the Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yoew and Penang state Tourism Development, Arts, Culture and Heritage committee chairman, YB Yeoh Soon Hin

Staying true to the Penang State Governments efforts in making Penang the greenest and cleanest state, PSFF 2019 will practice no single use containers throughout the festival. Foodies and future foodies to be are encouraged to bring their own cups and containers.

So free up those two days, put on your stretchy pants, grab your friends, family and appetites, and head to the PSFF2019 for a street food gastronomical galore of a lifetime.

Get ready to feast!
